Torey Krug Is Not Nearly As Tall As Zdeno Chara (Photo)

Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug already has made an impact in the NHL. He’s one of the Bruins’ best puck-movers and a weapon on Boston’s top power-play unit, and he’s done it all despite being a tad undersized.

Krug has been knocked his entire career for being a little on the shorter side when it comes to NHL defensemen. The Michigan State product is just (a listed) 5-foot-9. That lack of size is evident at times on the ice, but it’s no more evident than when he’s standing next to the NHL’s tallest player, teammate Zdeno Chara. The Boston captain is literally (at least) a foot taller than Krug, as the Slovakian blueliner checks in at 6-foot-9.

Krug poked a little fun at his own height when he tweeted a pretty humorous picture of himself and Chara standing on the bench during the National Anthem at a recent game. See the photo below.
