Yasmani Grandal’s videobombs are already in midseason form.
The Padres catcher upped the ante on the trend while his new teammate Seth Smith, whom San Diego acquired from the Oakland Athletics this offseason, was giving an interview. With Smith completely oblivious to what was going on behind him and the interviewer impressively giving nothing away, Grandal strolls onscreen to take a practice swing before dropping to one knee and using his bat as a gun to shoot his imaginary batted ball out of the air.
After displaying his skeet shooting skills, Grandal casually jogs away as Smith continues on with his interview, none the wiser.
