Zdeno Chara Capitalizes On Coyotes Turnover To Open Scoring (Video)

A turnover from Phoenix defenseman Keith Yandle in the first period of Thursday’s Bruins-Coyotes game helped Boston open the scoring.

Yandle’s poor pass missed his teammates and rolled toward the blue line, where Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara picked up the puck, skated toward the Coyotes’ net and fired a shot past goaltender Mike Smith.

The goal gave the B’s a 1-0 lead, and later in the period, Jarome Iginla doubled his team’s advantage with a tip-in goal off a Johnny Boychuk shot from the point.
