Following Adam Silver’s decision to ban Donald Sterling from the league for life, the commissioner posted a letter on NBA.com addressed to the fans.
The NBA commissioner celebrated the league’s “diverse, respectful and inclusive culture,” and reiterated a sentiment echoed by many in saying, “Mr. Sterling’s views have no place in the NBA.”
Silver, who handled the situation expertly, also expressed a hope that now fans can now return to enjoying the playoffs.
The unprecedented punishment handed down by Silver earned him new respect and admiration from many NBA owners and players, as well as fans.
