Boston Red Sox Win Challenge On Extremely Close Play At First (Video)

The Boston Red Sox have been fairly unlucky using the MLB’s new challenge system so far this season, but during Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in Toronto, that was not the case.

Clay Buchholz had two outs with Jose Reyes up to bat in the second inning. Reyes put a ball on the ground to shortstop Jonathan Herrera, who then made an unbelievably close play to Mike Carp at first.

Umpires initially ruled that Reyes was safe, but per manager John Farrell’s challenge, they took a second look and overturned the call, ending the inning.
