Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin was taken off the ice on a stretcher during the second period of Sunday’s game after Calgary Flames forward Paul Byron hit him from behind along the boards.

Sedin’s head went into the glass and he quickly fell to the ice. The Canucks winger laid on the ice for several minutes without much movement while medical personnel placed him on a stretcher.

Byron was ejected from the game and received a 5-minute major penalty for boarding.
