In the wake of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s lifetime ban from the NBA, team president Andy Roeser will take over the day-to-day operations of the franchise, USA Today Sports reported Tuesday, via a source.

Roeser has been handling team and business operations as the Clippers’ president since 1986. He joined the Clippers organization in 1984.

The Clippers released an unattributed statement Tuesday after NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced the ban and $2.5 million fine against Sterling.

“We wholeheartedly support and embrace the decision by the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver today,” the Clippers statement said. “Now the healing process begins.”

The Clippers are scheduled to hold a news conference at 8:45 p.m. ET before the team hosts Game 5 of their first-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors.
