Derek, the UConn resident assistant whose email went viral, is trying to save some face today.

Derek has been tormented on the Internet for what he wrote to his residents, including saying they were “cheering for laundry” and telling them to “have fun, but not too much fun.”

One of Derek’s residents, Connecticut student Dan Gibson, tweeted out a picture of another email that he sent Tuesday, which told the students that he was being sarcastic. He asked them to “address me the way I address you when there is a problem (mostly passive-aggressive emails)” next time before they resort to the Internet.

As for his lack of team spirit, Derek backed up his laundry statement by alerting the residents that it was a joke from “Seinfeld,” writing “Next time I’ll include a link so you know that I’m kidding.”

Check out his email in the tweet below.
