Donald SterlingLos Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been being roundly lambasted since a recording of him allegedly making racist comments went public Friday.

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump joined in this criticism Monday, but he also directed some toward Sterling’s girlfriend, V. Stiviano.

“He got set up by a very, very bad girlfriend, let’s face it,” Trump said on FOX News’ “FOX & Friends” (via CBS DC). “She’s called the girlfriend from hell, but what he said was terrible and despicable, and very strong action is going to be taken. There’s no question about it. She’s a terrible human being, and he gave horrible answers and disgusting answers.”

The recording in question purportedly is a conversation between Sterling and Stiviano, whom Sterling’s wife sued last month, alleging Stiviano embezzled roughly $1.8 million from the Clippers owner. Stiviano’s attorney said in a statement that Stiviano was not the one who leaked the tape to the media.

The NBA will hold a news conference Tuesday to “make an announcement about its investigation” regarding Sterling.
