johnny manzielThings are going well for Johnny Manziel these days.

The quarterback has a Heisman Trophy on his mantel, NFL big bucks on the way and some long-awaited endorsement money in his pocket. Not bad for a 21-year-old.

Manziel also has a longtime admirer in rapper Drake, who decided to give both Johnny Football and stud NBA prospect Andrew Wiggins shoutouts on his new track, “Draft Day.”

The song just dropped earlier this week, but Drake and Manziel have been friends for quite some time. The rapper detailed their relationship in a September 2013 interview with ESPN’s “First Take,” conducted after Manziel traveled to Toronto for one of his shows.

“I want to see this kid thrive and succeed, so I would never put him in any situation, I would never put him in jeopardy,” Drake said. “He came out there for the music and for the experience and it was a phenomenal experience and we had fun.

“For me, it’s not hanging out and looking cool because I know Johnny Manziel, I actually care about this guy.”

Listen to “Draft Day” — which, be forewarned, includes a fair amount of explicit language — right here.
