Giancarlo Stanton’s Walk-Off Grand Slam Makes Red Sox Fans Drool (Video)

Many Red Sox fans have fantasized about Boston landing Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton. Those fantasies heightened a bit Friday.

Stanton launched a walk-off grand slam against the Seattle Mariners, giving him six home runs and 26 RBIs through 17 games. Stanton’s blast also prompted many Red Sox fans — as well as fans of other teams — to hop on Twitter and profess their love for the 24-year-old.

The Marlins have stated several times that Stanton isn’t available and that they intend to build around the young outfielder. Miami has conducted fire sales in the past, though, and there has been plenty of speculation over the last couple of years that the Marlins might not be able to keep Stanton because of both their recent futility and their low-spending ways.

Stanton, who is hitting .329 with a .390 on-base percentage this season, showed again Friday why he’s considered one of baseball’s most coveted players. Check out his grand slam and some of the Red Sox/Stanton-based Twitter reaction below.
