henrik zetterbergDetroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg practiced Thursday morning, but his status for Thursday night’s game against the Boston Bruins still is uncertain.

The Red Wings announced after practice that Zetterberg is headed to be examined by a doctor and will be a game-time decision for Game 4 of the team’s Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock told reporters he’s “hopeful” that his captain, who has not played since before the Olympic break because of a back injury, will be healthy enough to suit up.

“The doctors decide, not me,” Babcock said, via MLive’s Ansar Khan. “We’re hopeful. It’ll be (a) game-time (decision).”

Zetterberg skated on the first line with Pavel Datsyuk and Justin Abdelkader during practice, but he’s expected to see “limited minutes” if he is cleared to play, a source close to the Red Wings told The Hockey News.
