Jameis WinstonFlorida State quarterback Jameis Winston, who also happens to be a member of the university’s baseball team, has been suspended from the spring sport after being issued a misdemeanor citation Tuesday for allegedly shoplifting $37.47 worth of seafood from a Tallahassee supermarket.

Winston was not arrested or booked as a result of the incident, but he has been ordered to pay a $30 fine and complete 20 hours of community service.

“As a result of last night’s citation, we are suspending Jameis Winston from the baseball team,” FSU baseball coach Mike Martin said, via Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples. “I am confident he will complete his community service obligation and the situation will be resolved soon.”

Winston was named to the Baseball America Preseason All-American Third Team before the 2014 season.

FSU football coach Jimbo Fisher supported Martin’s statement.

“I fully support coach Martin’s decision and will also make sure that Jameis meets all obligations, which I know he will,” Fisher said.
