Few college athletes would have been more excited to play under what some are calling “the Shabazz Napier rule” than former Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen.

Lorenzen, a UK cult hero who recently returned to the national spotlight as an indoor football star, weighed more than 260 pounds during his collegiate days — and has since grown north of 300.

The NCAA on Tuesday approved legislation that will grant unlimited meals and snacks to student-athletes, and it’s only fitting that the man best known as the Hefty Lefty weighed in with his opinion of the change.
