The Red Sox hosted another moving tribute Sunday for the victims and first responders of last April’s Boston Marathon bombing. Jeff Bauman’s day at Fenway Park started well before the emotional pregame ceremony.

Bauman, a survivor of the Boston Marathon attack who recently released a memoir titled, “Stronger,” threw batting practice to outfielder Jonny Gomes and catcher David Ross. It was an incredible sight, especially given that Bauman still is adapting to his new life and learning to walk with prosthetic limbs.

Bauman truly epitomizes what it means to be “Boston Strong.” And it’s moments like Sunday’s that further show the importance of the Red Sox in the resilient city’s healing process.
