It seemed like no one could stop Stephen Curry on Sunday.
Well, no one except for referee Joey Crawford.
The Golden State Warriors sharpshooter had nailed his first five three-pointers of the game and was poised to knock down his sixth on a wide-open three from the corner. What happened next was a bit unusual.
As Curry went up for the jumper, referee Joey Crawford scampered in front of him to get a better view of Curry’s feet near the three-point line.
It’s tough to say whether Crawford’s close-up actually affected Curry, but the Warriors guard clanked the shot for his first missed three of the game.
Luckily for Curry, the long-time NBA referee backed off on the D after that. Curry went on to light it up for 33 points on 10-of-20 shooting to lead his team to a 118-97 rout of the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinals.
