Three Liverpool Players Voted Onto PFA Premier League Team of the Year

Daniel Sturridge, Merseyside derbySteven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have been included on English soccer’s Professional Footballers’ Association’s Premier League Team of the Year for the 2013-14 season.

The Liverpool trio was recognized by their fellow professional players for the fine season they’re currently enjoying. All three were finalists for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year Award, which Suarez won.

Midfielder Gerrard has led Liverpool’s charge into the ranks of the Premier League elite this season. Forwards Suarez and Sturridge are the top two goal scorers in the league with 30 and 20, respectively.

Gerrard makes his eighth career appearance on the PFA Team of the Year. This is Suarez’s second time on the list. Sturridge was named to the players’ union’s honor roll for the first time in his career.

Here is the 2013-14 PFA Premier League Team of the Year in full:

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech (Chelsea)

Defenders: Luke Shaw (Southampton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Seamus Coleman (Everton)

Midfielders: Adam Lallana (Southampton), Gerrard, Yaya Toure (Manchester City), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Forwards: Suarez, Sturridge
