Liverpool will submit plans to the public for consultation this week. Input will be included in the club’s planning application, which it expects to submit to the city council this summer.

“We started this journey just over 18 months ago and a lot of work has already been done, there is still an incredible amount to do, but good progress has been made so far and we are proud to be able to unveil our plans,” Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre told

If Liverpool receives permission, construction will begin in early 2015. The club hopes to complete the Main Stand project in time for the 2016-17 season.
