The Boston Bruins rallied for three third-period goals in Game 2 of the 1998 conference quarterfinals against the Washington Capitals.

The B’s held a 3-2 lead late in the third, but Washington’s Sergei Gonchar tied it up with just 36 seconds remaining to force overtime. One frame of free hockey wasn’t enough for these two teams, but just 54 seconds into the second overtime period, defenseman Darren Van Impe scored his second goal of the game to give the B’s the big win.
