Jackie Bradley Jr.April 3, 2014 – NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, announced today plans for a new live Red Sox pregame show for kids called “NESN Clubhouse.” The weekly half-hour program will debut Sunday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m., and air before the network’s traditional hour-long pregame coverage every Sunday that NESN broadcasts a Red Sox game.

” ‘NESN Clubhouse’ will be a fun and youth-centric live pregame show with features designed for kids to watch with their parents or grandparents,” said Joseph Maar, NESN’s vice president of programming & production, executive producer. “The show will be light-hearted, engaging and fast-paced; a show for kids that will entertain viewers of all ages.”

“NESN Clubhouse” will feature junior reporters, along with Tom Caron, Gary Striewski, former and current Red Sox players and Wally The Green Monster. The show will include features like “Stump Your Parents” and “You Make the Call” so kids are challenged and involved in the show. Players will show kids how to play the game, and kids will interview players and a variety of Fenway Park workers about their cool jobs.

During Red Sox home games, the show will originate from Yawkey Way. When the team is on the road, NESN Clubhouse will be produced live in front of a studio audience from the NESN studios in Watertown, Mass., on a new set designed specifically for the show. The live audience will feature youth baseball and softball teams. Parents are encouraged to visit NESN.com/ClubhouseSweepstakes to sign up their son or daughter’s team for a chance to win an opportunity to be in the live studio audience for select road games.
