Rafael Bush finally is in the clear.

After a three-month appeal process, the NFL has rescinded a $21,000 fine of the New Orleans Saints safety for his hit on Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin in last season’s NFC divisional playoff game, Bush’s agent told The Times-Picayune.

Bush caught the league’s eye in the first quarter of the Saints’ 23-15 playoff loss to the Seahawks when he came over the top on a pass intended for Harvin and delivered a vicious blow to knock the ball out of the receiver’s hands.

Bush received a 15-yard penalty on the play for hitting a defenseless receiver, and Harvin was forced to leave the game to undergo concussion testing.

The NFL slapped Bush with a $21,000 fine less than one week after the game, but the Saints safety appealed it just days later. Bush’s efforts finally paid off Wednesday, and the safety tweeted his relief about the news.
