General manager Peter Chiarelli’s offseason moves paid off for the Boston Bruins in the regular season to the tune of the Presidents’ Trophy, and the B’s hope to see that success continue well into the postseason.
The Fourth of July blockbuster trade that brought Loui Eriksson and Reilly Smith to Boston revamped the third line, the free-agent signing of Jarome Iginla resulted in a 30-goal season for the future Hall of Famer and the young defensemen stepped up admirably in the absence of Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid.
The roster shakeup powered the Black and Gold to the top of the Eastern Conference, but they aren’t done yet.
