With the Philadelphia Phillies leading 3-2 in the second inning on Wednesday, Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Ryan Gennett lofted a soft flare into shallow center field that looked like a sure base hit.

Enter Ben Revere.

The speedy Phillies outfielder covered an absurd amount of ground and made a full-extension dive to rob Gennett of a base hit in what might be the catch of the year so far in 2014.

Wednesday night’s catch wasn’t the first time Revere made headlines with his glove. The 25-year-old endeared himself to Boston Red Sox fans last April by writing a touching tribute to the city of Boston on his mitt in the wake of the Marathon explosions and then making an amazing highlight-reel grab in that night’s game.

Unfortunately for Revere, the Brewers got the last laugh on Wednesday night with a 9-4 victory to improve to 6-2 on the season.
