Justin Florek, Jonas GustavssonDetroit Red Wings goalie Jonas Gustavsson did a nice job after being named the starter shortly before Game 4 against the Boston Bruins. He’ll get another crack at it on Saturday afternoon in Boston as the Wings look fight for their lives.

The Bruins will try to close out the series on Saturday, and they will have to do so against Gustavsson. Wings coach Mike Babcock announced Friday that Gustavsson will make his second consecutive start. The 29-year-old was inserted into the lineup just before Thursday’s game, as Jimmy Howard was scratched with what the team called the flu.

Gustavsson was actually pretty good in his first career playoff start. He stopped 37 of the 40 shots he faced, ultimately giving up the game-winning goal to Jarome Iginla in overtime.

Babcock told reporters he assumes Howard will serve as the backup. Howard was not on the bench during Game 4.
