The Buffalo Bills have acquired wide receiver Mike Williams from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a sixth-round pick, according to ESPN’s James Walker.

The fifth-year receiver has appeared frequently in the news recently, and not for good reasons. On March 23, Williams was taken to a hospital in Tampa after being stabbed in the leg by his brother.

Earlier this week, Williams’ name surfaced again when the Tampa Bay Times reported that he faced a lawsuit after a kitchen fire caused damages in a home the receiver rented last summer.

Williams will look for a fresh start in Buffalo under second-year head coach Doug Marrone and will join recently acquired linebacker Brandon Spikes on a team that hopes to make some noise in the AFC East in 2014.
