jaromir jagrNew Jersey Devils winger Jaromir Jagr said Tuesday that he has a deal in place to return with the team for the 2014-15 season.

Jagr reportedly told the news to Zdenek Janda of iSport.cz and Roman Jedlicka of TV NOVA Sport in his native Czech Republic, where he’s training for the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship. Jagr’s agent, Petr Svoboda, also confirmed the news to NJ.com, which said the winger reportedly will receive a one-year deal worth $5 million to $6 million.

“Well, in some ways it is (a done deal), but (Devils general manager) Lou Lamoriello is going to let it (be announced) when he’s ready,” said Svoboda, who added: “He liked it there (in New Jersey). He likes the team, coach and GM.”

Jagr, 42, led the Devils in scoring with 67 points in his first season with the team. He finished the season tied for sixth place with Steve Yzerman on the NHL’s all-time scoring list with 1,755 points.

Jagr is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
