The New England Patriots are doing their due diligence on some top quarterback prospects this spring.
Teddy Bridgewater is scheduled to visit the Patriots on Wednesday, a source told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. The Louisville product is expected to be taken in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft.
Bridgewater will join projected first-round signal-caller Johnny Manziel on his visit to Foxboro. The Patriots have quarterback Tom Brady locked up through 2017 on a contract extension he signed last offseason, but backup Ryan Mallett’s rookie contract runs out after this season.
Bridgewater had a rough showing at his pro day March 17. That could have the 6-foot-2, 214-pound quarterback tumbling on draft day.
