Rob Gronkowski Helps Raise $20K For Fallen Firefighters’ Families (Photos)

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski took part in a benefit concert Monday night at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston and helped raise over $20,000 for two fallen firefighters who tragically died last month, TMZ Sports reported.

Lt. Ed Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy both lost their lives March 26 while fighting a nine-alarm blaze in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.

Gronk kicked off the event, which was hosted by the local organization, The Great American Foundation, in possibly the most Gronk-way possible.

According to TMZ, Gronkowski put on a Boston Fire Gaelic Brigade helmet and said some heartfelt words about the men who “put their lives on the line all the time.” Gronk then got the event going by telling the crowd, “They’re our true heroes … God bless America … Let’s get Gronkin’.”

All of the money raised will be donated to the firefighters’ families.
