Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf took a slapshot to the face off Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin’s stick during the final seconds of Wednesday night’s Stanley Cup playoff game.

The puck nailed Getzlaf in the jaw right below his lip, requiring him to receive stitches, but he’s expected to play in Game 2 on Friday night as the Ducks try to protect their 1-0 series lead.

Getzlaf’s brother Chris, who is a receiver for the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders, was kind enough to post a photo of the Ducks star’s stitches on Twitter. We don’t recommend scrolling down any further if you’re faint of heart.
