ryan.reedRoush Fenway Racing rookie Ryan Reed finished 13th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 on Friday, his first Darlington Raceway start.

Reed’s No. 16 Mustang had a top-20 starting spot in both runs. After receiving crew assistance with four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment during Lap 18 of his first run, the young driver was able to push ahead four positions to earn a 15th-place start for the second green flag run.

Reed was put under caution again on Lap 87, forcing him to take more tires and fuel, but he managed to cross the finish line having advanced two more spots.
