Nick Foles Michael VickNEW YORK — A petition seeking to ban quarterback Michael Vick from New York Jets training camp at SUNY Cortland this summer because of his dogfighting-related crimes had over 2,600 signatures as of late Monday night.

The petition on change.org includes a photo of an abused dog and calls Vick “a monster and a disgrace.” It’s addressed to SUNY Cortland president Erik J. Bitterbaum, saying “if we welcome Vick onto our campus, we are complicit in his crimes.”

Vick, who recently signed with the Jets after five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, served nearly two years in federal prison for pleading guilty in 2007 to being part of a dogfighting ring.

The Jets have trained at SUNY Cortland four of the last five summers, but they haven’t announced if they will return this year.
