It was a special night at the Honda Center on Sunday night when Anaheim Ducks forward Teemu Selanne played in theĀ final regular-season game of his career.

In addition to sporting the “C” and receiving a video tribute before the game, the 43-year-old Finnish Flash was given standing ovations on every one of his shifts during the third period and he was honored with all three stars of the game following the Ducks’ 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. But the best moment was yet to come for one of the most beloved hockey players in the game.

Selanne, who has called Anaheim home for 15 of his 20 years in the NHL, took a few laps around the rink after the game, waving and thanking the thousands of fans who stuck around to watch his final send-off. Selanne then did one better. With the Ducks and Avalanche still on the ice, he grabbed former teammate Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who stopped 33 shots for the Avs in what was likely his last regular-season game, as well.

The two clasped hands and did one final lap together, grinning ear-to-ear the entire time.
