wahlburgersBostonians no longer will need to trek to Hingham for their Wahlburgers fix.

The restaurant, which is owned by brothers Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg, announced plans Wednesday to open a new location near Fenway Park, according to The Boston Globe. The burger joint also has its sights on opening franchises in Philadelphia, Toronto and Lynnfield, Mass.

“These are the next steps in building Wahlburgers into a great and enduring worldwide brand,” Mark Wahlberg said in a statement. “We have built the restaurant and partnerships with quality and care, and my brothers and I look forward to continuing the journey.”

Wahlburgers, which opened its original location in 2011, has become nationally recognized thanks to its reality series — called, simply, “Wahlburgers” — which premiered this past January on A&E.

The Fenway spot — the exact location of which has not been disclosed — is expected to open by the end of 2014, according to Wahlburgers CEO Rick Vanzura.
