Yasiel PuigYasiel Puig’s journey from Cuba to the U.S. has all the makings of a movie. Now, such a spectacle could be in the works.

Variety.com featured an article stating that movie producer Brett Ratner “…has acquired movie rights to the story of Los Angeles Dodger Yasiel Puig’s escape from Cuba…”

One interesting point in the purchase is that the rights weren’t bought from Puig; instead Ratner purchased the rights to the L.A. Magazine article that describes Puig’s journey. The article, however, features very little input from Puig himself.

While Puig’s story could very well be movie-worthy, it doesn’t exactly appear that the Dodger’s star is eager to have it shared.
