Rounds 2 and 3 will be held Friday night, starting at 7 p.m. The Houston Texans hold the No. 33 pick and need a quarterback, so we could see a quick pick there.

11:45 p.m.: Teddy Bridgewater indeed goes to the Minnesota Vikings with the 32nd pick. He’ll compete with Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel for playing time, but neither veteran has instilled confidence, so Bridgewater could be taking snaps as a rookie.
11:43 p.m.: The Seattle Seahawks trade the 32nd pick to the Minnesota Vikings for a second-round pick (No. 40) and a fourth-round pick (No. 108). Rumblings are Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is headed to Minnesota.
11:38 p.m.: Ohio State defensive back Bradley Roby goes on the 31st pick to the Denver Broncos, who need secondary help after losing mainstay Champ Bailey this offseason.
The Seattle Seahawks, who vanquished the Broncos in the Super Bowl, own the last pick of the first round.
11:33 p.m.: Northern Illinois defensive back Jimmie Ward goes to the San Francisco 49ers with the 30th pick. Two more picks to go …
11:23 p.m.: The New England Patriots selected Florida defensive tackle Dominique Easley No. 29 overall.
Easley suffered two torn ACLs during his career at Florida, with his most recent injury coming in September. Easley is a slight risk in the first round, but it’s one that really could pay off.
11:18 p.m.:Â The Panthers selected Florida State wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin No. 28 overall. Benjamin is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound receiver with quickness.
The New England Patriots are on the clock.
11:16 p.m.:Â Another safety is off the board at No. 27 overall. The Arizona Cardinals selected Washington State’s Deone Bucannon, who’s a freak athlete with the perfect size for a free or strong safety.
Bucannon is a defensive back who fits in the NFC West, which is known for its big, fast defensive backs. The Carolina Panthers are on the clock, then the New England Patriots will pick.
11:11 p.m.:Â The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the world by taking Louisville pass rusher Marcus Smith. The Eagles needed edge-rush help, but Smith was rarely mocked as a first-round pick. NFL Network cameras immediately showed an Eagles fan looking very confused by the pick.
11:04 p.m.:Â The San Diego Chargers selected TCU cornerback Jason Verrett at No. 25 overall. Verrett is undersized at 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, but he might be the most skilled cornerback in the draft.
The Chargers desperately needed help on defense last season. Verrett likely will play outside and in the slot for San Diego.
10:58 p.m.:Â The Cincinnati Bengals made a slightly predictable pick at No. 24, selecting Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard. The Bengals needed youth in their secondary, and Dennard, despite being under 6 feet, is imposing as a press corner.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Browns want to trade back into the first round. They already have selected cornerback Justin Gilbert and quarterback Johnny Manziel.
The San Diego Chargers are on the clock at No. 25, and the New England Patriots are four picks away.
10:53 p.m.:Â The Kansas City Chiefs desperately needed a wide receiver, and they selected Auburn pass rusher Dee Ford. Apparently they’re content to wait for a receiver in Round 2, where plenty will be left.
The Chiefs already have Justin Houston and Tamba Hali at pass rusher, so it’s unknown how Ford will fit. The Chiefs struggled when Houston and Hali dealt with injuries in 2013.
10:42 p.m.:Â The Green Bay Packers selected Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at No. 21, and Johnny Manziel was drafted No. 22 by the Cleveland Browns after they traded up from No. 26.
The Browns traded up with the Philadelphia Eagles to take their new franchise quarterback. The wait finally is over for Manziel.
Manziel will have to beat out quarterback Brian Hoyer for the starting job in 2014. Hoyer played well until he was injured in 2013.
Browns draft busts Branden Weeden and Brady Quinn also were selected No. 22 overall. Another Browns draft bust, Tim Couch, wore Manziel’s No. 2.
Manziel did the money sign on stage after he was drafted.
Good point here:
The Kansas City Chiefs are up at No. 23 overall.
10:25 p.m.:Â The Saints needed more offensive weapons for quarterback Drew Brees, so they selected Oregon State wideout Brandin Cooks, who can play in the slot or in the “Z” receiver role.
Cooks is extremely fast, and he’s a playmaker after the catch. The Saints needed a shifty receiver after losing Darren Sproles. They play different positions, but Cooks can play a similar role for the Saints.
The Green Bay Packers are up next.
10:19 p.m.:Â The Miami Dolphins had a need at right tackle, and they reached for it.
The Dolphins selected Tennessee offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James with the No. 19 overall pick. James was widely considered a second-round pick.
The Saints traded up with the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 20 overall pick. The Saints were selecting No. 27. It’s doubtful that the Saints are taking Johnny Manziel.
They’re more likely to take a wide receiver like USC’s Marqise Lee or Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks.
10:09 p.m.:Â The Jets passed on a wide receiver and cornerback at No. 18, choosing Louisville safety Calvin Pryor instead. The Jets reportedly coveted wide receiver Odell Beckham, who went to the Giants.
The Jets’ fanbase had a mixed reaction to the pick. It wasn’t a typical Jets boo fest, but they also didn’t seem thrilled.
10 p.m.:Â The Baltimore Ravens have selected one of the safest picks in the draft, Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley.
Mosley’s quick, fast and he can cover and stop the run. Mosley will play inside linebacker for the Ravens, and he fits in the Ray Lewis mold.
The Jets are on the board at No. 18. They could go with a cornerback or wide receiver.
9:53 p.m.: The Dallas Cowboys’ much-anticipated No. 16 pick is in — and it’s Zack Martin, the Notre Dame guard.
The Radio City Music Hall crowd isn’t happy about it. They wanted Johnny Manziel. The question is, which NFL team will want him?
The Baltimore Ravens now are on the clock.
9:47 p.m.: The Pittsburgh Steelers pick Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier at No. 15. It fits with the Steelers’ mold, going for defense and grit when some offensive punch might be needed more.
And now the world wait for Jerry Jones. What will he do?
9:45 p.m.: The Chicago Bears’ No. 14 pick is revealed as Virginia Tech defensive back Kyle Fuller. It’s a smart move since you never can have too many DBs in an NFC North that includes Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford.
Still waiting on the Steelers’ pick to be announced.
9:42 p.m.: The announcement that the Pittsburgh Steelers have selected (no word on that pick or the Bears’) and that the Dallas Cowboys are on the clock draws cheers from the Radio City Music Hall. If Johnny Manziel is the pick, the roof will come off this place.
9:38 p.m.: The St. Louis Rams add Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald to their first-round haul with the No. 13 pick.
The Rams took Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson at No. 2, and with Donald now in the fold, two areas are addressed. They needed to be if the Rams are to compete in an NFC West that’s stacked with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, contending San Francisco 49ers and up-and-coming Arizona Cardinals.
The Chicago Bears have turned in the No. 14 pick, but it hasn’t been revealed. The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the clock at No. 15, with the Dallas Cowboys (Johnny Manziel, anyone?) looming at No. 16.
9:29 p.m.: LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. goes to the New York Giants with the No. 12 pick. Beckham essentially replaces veteran Hakeem Nicks, who left for the Indianapolis Colts in free agency. Eli Manning has to love this pick.
9:23 p.m.: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cleveland Browns, who already made two trades tonight, were discussing another deal with the Tennessee Titans to acquire the No. 11 pick. The trade wasn’t consummated, though, and the Titans picked Taylor Lewan. The New York Giants now are on the clock.
The St. Louis Rams own the No. 13 pick, their second of the first round. Could there be a deal there? Stay tuned.
9:22 p.m.: The Tennessee Titans have picked Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan at No. 11. It’s not the sexiest pick, but it’s possibly a smart one since scrambling quarterback Jake Locker needs protection. That’s if Locker really is Tennessee’s franchise QB.
9:15 p.m.: Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders takes the stage to loud applause and announces that his former team has selected North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron with the No. 10 pick. ESPN and NFL Network cameras quickly show an emotional Ebron, whose selection had to make Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford happy. He has yet another weapon at his disposal.
Ebron had a big day. He proposed to his girlfriend at the top of the Empire State Building hours before the draft. She said yes, and now the happy couple is headed to Detroit.
9:11 p.m.: The Minnesota Vikings have selected UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr at No. 9. The Detroit Lions, who hold the No. 10 pick, also have made their selection, but it hasn’t been revealed. The Tennessee Titans, at No. 11, are on the clock.
9:06 p.m.: The Browns took Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert at No. 8, drawing a reaction from the Radio City Music Hall crowd. Some of them expected Johnny Manziel to go there. Gilbert and Joe Haden, though — quite a cornerback combo for Cleveland.
9:01 p.m.: The Cleveland Browns are wheelin’ and dealin’, trading back up to No. 8 and sending the No. 9 pick they acquired from the Buffalo Bills and a fifth-round pick (No. 145) to the Minnesota Vikings.
8:54 p.m.: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have a towering pair of wide receivers. The Bucs selected Texas A&M receiver Mike Evans at No. 7 overall. Evans will pair with Vincent Jackson to give whoever starts at quarterback two 6-foot-5 wideouts.
Evans was drafted before his quarterback, Johnny Manziel, which shows which player the NFL deems more valuable.
The Minnesota Vikings are on the clock.
8:51 p.m.: The Atlanta Falcons selected Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews at No. 6 overall. Atlanta desperately needed offensive line help to protect Matt Ryan.
Matthews will play his cousin, Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, on “Monday Night Football” next season. They could be battling all night.
Matthews is viewed as one of the safest picks in the draft. There was late word that Michigan tackle Taylor Lewan had passed Matthews on draft boards, but obviously he didn’t for the Falcons.
8:42 p.m.:Â The Oakland Raiders selected linebacker Khalil Mack, who can stand up and cover at linebacker, at No. 5, and he can put his hand in the dirt to rush the quarterback from defensive end.
The Raiders had a tough decision between Mack and Texas A&M wideout Mike Evans. Oakland has done a great job of improving its defense this offseason — especially on the front seven. The Raiders could look to take a quarterback in Round 2.
8:36 p.m.: The Buffalo Bills traded up to No. 4 to take Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins. The Cleveland Browns, who owned the pick, could have used Watkins, too. Curious decision.
The Bills gave up a haul to acquire Watkins. Buffalo traded the ninth overall pick in this draft, plus a first-round pick in 2015 and a fourth-round pick in 2015 to move up to No. 4 overall.
8:33 p.m.: Two minutes after the Jaguars took Blake Bortles, Radio City Music Hall remains abuzz. And then comes the announcement that the Cleveland Browns have traded the No. 4 pick to the Buffalo Bills. It didn’t take long for things to become interesting.
8:31 p.m.: Here’s the first surprise of the draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars have picked Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles at No. 3. Wow. Johnny Manziel remains on the board for the Cleveland Browns, who pick next. Will they bite?
8:24 p.m.: The St. Louis Rams have selected Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson with the No. 2 pick. The Jacksonville Jaguars now are the clock. Is this where we hear Johnny Manziel’s name called?
8:20 p.m.: Jadeveon Clowney catches up with ESPN’s Suzy Kolber and says he didn’t know the Texans would pick him until minutes before. He also says he recognizes the high expectations that come with being the No. 1 pick — and the first defensive player to go No. 1 since 2006, when the Texans took perennial Pro Bowl pass rusher Mario Williams.
The St. Louis Rams now are on the clock. Will they take an offensive lineman or trade the No. 2 pick to a team that wants to grab a quarterback before the Jacksonville Jaguars do?
8:15 p.m.: The Texans have selected the consensus best player in the draft, South Carolina pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney.
The Texans will have to address their need at quarterback later.
Clowney will play outside linebacker in Romeo Crennel’s base 3-4 defense. He’ll slide down to defensive end on third down and in sub packages. Clowney and J.J. Watt will make an intimidating pass-rushing duo.
8:09 p.m.:Â It’s incredible that we still have no idea who’s going No. 1 overall. It’s expected to be Jadeveon Clowney, but we don’t know for sure. The Texans reportedly have their pick locked in, but they haven’t leaked it out.
8:00 p.m.:Â NFL commissioner Roger Goodell takes the stage, and he’s booed mercilessly. The Houston Texas are officially on the clock.

7:42 p.m.: All 30 prospects in attendance at Radio City Music Hall are being introduced to the crowd. All receive nice applauses — except Johnny Manziel. He draws a few boos.
6:55 p.m.: The Houston Texans will be on the clock at 8 p.m., and they’re still not giving any hints about who they will select No. 1 overall.
The New England Patriots are in talks about trading quarterback Ryan Mallett to the Texans for a third-round pick, according to a league source, and if that deal goes down, Houston’s need for a quarterback will be lessened.
The Texans are expected to select South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, but Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack also is in play. And if the Texans don’t trade for Mallett, they could select one of the draft’s top quarterbacks.
The Patriots are sitting at No. 29 overall, and they’ve shown strong interest in Florida defensive tackle Dominique Easley. The Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks also are in the mix for Easley. The Patriots could trade down into the second round if the player they want isn’t available.
