We all know that rapper 50 Cent’s first pitch before Tuesday night’s New York Mets game was completely awful.

What no one could have predicted, though, was that the reaction to his pitch would spark a fight between a backup NFL quarterback and the fans of his former college team’s rival.

The bizarre scenario began when a UCLA fan account took an amusing shot at Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and former USC Trojan Matt Barkley on Twitter.

Many people found the comparison funny, but not Barkley, who fired back from his own Twitter account with an awesome rebuttal.

Barkley’s rookie season with the Eagles was less than stellar — he threw four interceptions and no touchdowns in only three games of action — but if UCLA fans are poking fun at the quarterback’s performance in Pasadena, they’re barking up the wrong tree.

As Barkley so kindly points out in his tweet, the former college star torched UCLA for 423 yards and six touchdowns in a 50-0 rout of the Bruins in 2011. He ended his college career with a 3-1 record against his cross-town rival, with 1,128 yards passing, 11 touchdowns and only five interceptions.

Advantage, Barkley.
