Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg hasn’t seen game action since Dec. 27, when he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee against the Ottawa Senators, but now he’s feeling better and skating regularly.
In fact, Seidenberg says he feels like he could hit the ice during the B’s second-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens.
“Yes, I’m feeling better,” Seidenberg told the Boston Globe on Tuesday night, after the Bruins’ Game 3 loss in Montreal. “I could probably play right now.”
Still, how Seidenberg feels and how his doctors feel are two completely different stories.
Seidenberg had knee surgery on Jan. 7, and the regular recovery time for his procedure is 6 to 8 months, which would rule him out for the entirety of the playoffs. However, Seidenberg didn’t tell the Globe, or anyone for that matter, what timeline his doctors actually gave him.
“That’s (the date) I don’t know yet,” Seidenberg said. “But each day, better. That’s good.”
