Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips single-handedly gave fans in Washington an extra hour of free baseball Monday night.

The Reds and Nationals were in the bottom of the 12th inning when Wilson Ramos came to the plate with runners on the corners and a chance to win it for the Nats. He appeared to have done just that when he lined a J.J. Hoover pitch straight back up the middle, but Phillips had other ideas.

The infielder ranged to his right and laid out to make the catch, robbing Ramos and sending the game into the 13th.

Two more scoreless innings followed Phillips’ snag before Todd Frazier homered for the Reds in the top of the 15th, and Cincinnati withstood a Washington rally in the bottom of the frame to secure a 4-3 win.
