Charles Barkley and San Antonio Spurs fans have gone to war, and the Round Mound of Rebound is welcoming all challengers.
Barkley’s beef with Spurs fans and the people of San Antonio — particularly the city’s women — is no secret. The TNT analyst recently called San Antonio the home for some “big old women,” adding that the city is a “gold mine for Weight Watchers.”
Those comments, as you might expect, didn’t go over very well. Spurs superstar Tim Duncan’s girlfriend called out Barkley, and the mayor of San Antonio even weighed in on the subject.
With the Western Conference finals beginning in San Antonio, Barkley and the rest of the “Inside the NBA” crew were in the city for game coverage. Barkley’s reception was less than friendly, and he responded Wednesday night the only way he knew how.
