Andray Blatche, Paul PierceDoc Rivers loves to tweak his former players, even from more than a thousand miles away.

The former Boston Celtics coach was watching Sunday when Paul Pierce blocked Kyle Lowry’s potential game-winning shot in Game 7 of the Brooklyn Nets’ first-round NBA playoff series against the Toronto Raptors. Pierce’s block was yet another clutch play in his long history of coming through when it mattered most.

When someone asked Rivers for his reaction, he couldn’t resist jokingly taking a jab at the 36-year-old forward.

“I didn’t know he could jump over a Monday paper,” Rivers said, via The Oklahoman.

Rivers is in Oklahoma City, where his Los Angeles Clippers hold a 1-0 lead over the Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals. Pierce and the Nets are facing a 1-0 deficit to the Miami Heat in the East semis. Needless to say, they both have a lot going on, but that can’t keep Rivers from still having a little fun.
