Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Josh Beckett picked up his third win of the season in dramatic fashion Sunday by throwing his first career no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Beckett’s no-no is the first in the MLB this season and the first by a Dodger since Hideo Nomo on Sept. 17, 1996. He finished the afternoon with six strikeouts, three walks and no runs allowed through nine innings. It’s also his first complete game of the year.
With his no-hitter, Beckett’s impressive list of major league accomplishments continues to grow. He’s a two-time World Series champion (2003, 2007), as well as a World Series MVP (2003) and an ALCS MVP (2007) award winner.
