Doubront’s DL Stint Leaves Spot In Rotation For Pawtucket Call-Up (Video)

With Felix Doubront on the 15-day disabled list, the Boston Red Sox are going to have to call up a starting pitcher from Pawtucket to take his spot in the rotation, but who that will be is still up in the air.

Brandon Workman would likely be considered the most major league-ready, but he’s been knocked around a bit in the minors and sits with a 5.12 ERA.

Ultimately, it will likely come down to who is next in the PawSox’s rotation when Doubront’s spot rolls around on Sunday. If that’s the case, the honors will go to Allen Webster, who is 2-2 with a 2.47 ERA in Pawtucket.
