jake peavyThe Boston Red Sox finally reached the .500 mark after Wednesday’s 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds, and starting pitcher Jake Peavy lasted into the seventh inning, helping lay some of the ground work for the Sox’s win.

Peavy was charged with three earned runs on four hits over six innings of work. He exited a 2-2 game with the bases loaded and nobody out in the seventh.

Although he didn’t factor into the decision, Peavy struck out four and walked four, marking the fifth time in seven starts he’s walked at least four batters, and for that, he wins this week’s Amica Pitcher of the Week award.
