Jon Lester Fans Career-High 15 Batters In Stellar Performance (Video)

Jon Lester pitched a career game Saturday against the Oakland Athletics at Fenway Park, striking out 15 and allowing just one hit and two walks over eight spectacular innings.

The 15 K’s were a personal best for Lester, who was the first Red Sox pitcher to strike out at least 15 batters since Pedro Martinez struck out 16 Tampa Bay Devil Rays on April 8, 2001. Lester’s record is also the most ever by a Red Sox southpaw in a regulation nine-inning game.
