Milwaukee Bucks owner Herb Kohl recently sold his team for $550 million, so he decided to use some of that money to show the employees of the BMO Harris Bradley Center how much he appreciated them.
Every Bradley Center employee received a letter from Kohl, and every letter came with a check for $500.
Izeal Atkins, the usher in Kohl’s section, told WISN 12 news that he snapped a photo with the outgoing owner during his last game at the Bradley Center, thinking that it would be the last time he’d have contact with Kohl. But then he received the letter in his mailbox.
“Then I go, and I open it up, and I see $500,” Atkins said. “I am not quick to shed tears. I sat there and shed tears for maybe five to 10 minutes because nobody just walks up gives you $500.”
Other Bradley Center employees were not expecting the gift either.
“Five hundred dollars, so I was very surprised. I was very surprised. You don’t hear about the people doing that,” Bradley Center security guard Markeish Stringer told WISN 12.
Kohl, who is also a former U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, had owned the Bucks since 1985.
