MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Wild have signed coach Mike Yeo to a multiyear contract extension.

The team announced the deal Saturday. Yeo just finished the last year of his original three-year contract by leading the Wild to the Western Conference semifinals.

Yeo guided the Wild through a rocky season filled with injuries and inconsistency early. But under his steady hand, the team beat Colorado in the first round of the playoffs for just the franchise’s second postseason series victory.

The Wild lost to Chicago in the semifinals. Yeo is 104-82-26 in his three seasons.
