Goodbye New Orleans, hello Minneapolis.
At Tuesday’s NFL Spring Meeting, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that Super Bowl LII will be held in Minneapolis in 2018.

The NFL’s landmark decision marks just the second time in Super Bowl history that the big game will be held in Minnesota. Super Bowl XXVI was played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in 1992.
The Minnesota Vikings are constructing a new stadium to replace the old Metrodome, and it’s expected to open in 2016.
The other two finalists for the 2018 game were Indianapolis and New Orleans, the latter of which had won its previous 10Â bids to host the Super Bowl.
The next four Super Bowl locations are now set, with Glendale, Ariz., Santa Clara, Calif., Houston, Texas, and Minneapolis as the upcoming host cities.
