Any “Mean Girls” reference is a solid “Mean Girls” reference, but they’re just so much better when made by professional athletes.

MASN’s Dan Kolko interviewed Washington Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth after the team’s 5-2 win over the New York Mets on Friday, and Werth paid homage to some of Lindsey Lohan’s best work. Kolko (sounds an awful lot like “Coco,” no?) asked Werth about what it’s like to watch the ball coming toward him in the outfield, knowing he has to make a play.

Werth’s response was part cliche, and part awesome.

“We got the W, that’s the most important thing. And we’re back here tomorrow to play again. And good for you, Dan Kolko! You go, Dan Kolko!”

We wonder how long he’s been waiting to use that one.

Here’s the Mean Girls scene for reference.

Kolko got the reference, and gave a hat tip to Werth on Twitter.
