It appears the days of winning with a strong offense and feeble defense are over as the Patriots head into OTAs. Their defensive rebuild, which started in 2009 when players like Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Richard Seymour, Ty Warren and Rodney Harrison had retired or moved on, finally is complete. Adding defensive tackle Dominique Easley and cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner should only strengthen a unit that already looked poised for success before injuries ravaged the Patriots’ defense in 2013.
