Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor was prepared to throw to first base after making a nice play on a tough grounder Monday night.

Apparently his uniform had other plans.

In one of the weirdest plays of the young baseball season, Odor fell victim to the jersey monster when the ball managed to somehow get lodged in between the buttons of his uniform, preventing him from throwing out Houston Astros batter Matt Dominguez.

At first glance, it looks like Odor just stops mid-play after making a nice effort to gobble up the grounder. When the camera zooms in, though, it reveals that the infielder’s jersey was the only thing doing the gobbling. Odor was finally able to pull the ball out of his shirt, but not after several seconds of struggle.

Dominguez was awarded a hit on the play, but we’re charging an error to the equipment staff. Luckily for Odor, the Rangers won 4-0.
